Mr Martin Ching Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon.

Martin trained as a dentist, 1984. Not satisfied with this, he completed his medical training in 1997. Surgery was his chosen area, and he completed is surgical training as an Oral and Maxillofacial surgeon in 1995. Martin has been working in Geelong and districts since moving from Adelaide in 1998. He has established a successful medical business and in 2006 opened both his Day Hospitals, Specialist Surgicentre Geelong and Docklands.

Martin is a practicing lawyer, establishing his practice in 2018. He recently commenced his Harvard course in Executive Leadership.

Dr Stephen Gibbons. Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon.

Mr Stephen Gibbons graduated BDSc Melbourne University in 1984 and commenced his Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery training at the University of Melbourne in 1986. Stephen completed his Master of Dental Science Degree in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery in 1989 and then commenced a Research Fellowship in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery in the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center. This was completed in mid 1990, when he commenced his position as Chief Resident in the Harvard University Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery training program at Massachusetts General Hospital, Boston USA. This was completed in mid 1991, after which he commenced Private Practice in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery in Melbourne.

Mr Gibbons completed his F.R.A.C.D.S. (OMS) successfully in 1991 and was made Consultant Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon at the Royal Melbourne Hospital and Royal Children’s Hospital of Melbourne at that time. He is currently a Consultant Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon at the Mildura Public Hospital and Royal Melbourne Hospital. Mr Gibbons’ special interests include corrective jaw surgery (including cleft lip and palate deformity), implantology and bone grafting, and dento-alveolar surgery including wisdom teeth. He was President of the Australian Dental Association, Victorian Branch in 1999/2000 and has held numerous committee positions within that institution.

Mr Simon Smith Podiatric Surgeon

Simon obtained his undergraduate podiatry degree from La Trobe University in 1997 and completed his Master of Podiatry from Curtin University in 2004. Simon undertook his specialist training in podiatric surgery (foot reconstructive surgery) with the Australasian College of Podiatric Surgeons in 2003 and was awarded Fellowship with the College in 2009.

He has expanded his clinical and surgical training overseas with Foot Surgical Preceptorships in the United Kingdom in the National Health Service and in the United States at the Podiatry Institute. During this time, Simon trained under leaders in the field of foot surgery.

Simon's major interests include the surgical management of hallux valgus (bunions), hallux rigidus (arthritis of the big toe joint) and minimally invasive surgery for common forefoot conditions, such as hammer or claw toes. He also has an interest in limb preservation and surgical management of diabetic foot problems. Simon is a Commonwealth Accredited Podiatric Surgeon (ps# 09-0021) for the purposes of health insurance rebates. Simon is a registered podiatric surgeon and an endorsed prescriber with the Podiatry Board of Australia.

Dr Prue Johnstone Obstetrician, gynaecologist, fertility specialist with Monash IVF.

Dr Prue Johnstone completed her medical degree with honours at Monash University in 2000, and undertook specialist Obstetrics and Gynaecology training at Mercy Hospital for Women, Melbourne. This included a Fellowship in Reproductive Medicine at the Mercy and Monash IVF Geelong and Richmond. Dr Johnstone completed a Masters of Reproductive Medicine through the University of New South Wales and now primarily sub-specialises in the care of individuals and couples with subfertility.

Dr Johnstone was born, raised and schooled in Geelong and undertook her resident medical years and part of her gynaecology training at The Geelong Hospital. When the opportunity came to work alongside Professor Gab Kovacs at Monash IVF Geelong, she was thrilled to be involved in providing a local and comprehensive fertility service for Geelong the surrounding area. Dr Johnston operates in Geelong as part of the Monash IVF Group. Working with Monash IVF Prue offers IVF procedures and is considered one of Melbourne’s IVF leading Fertility Specialists.

Dr Johnstone lives in Geelong and holds a public appointment at The Geelong Hospital providing public Obstetrics and Gynaecology care. She consults privately at the Monash IVF Geelong rooms and offers management of female and male infertility, social infertility, polycystic ovarian syndrome and recurrent miscarriage as well as diagnostic and operative hysteroscopy and laparoscopy

Dr Sam Sabary: MBchB Obstetrician & Gynaecologist Infertility specialist (Monash IVF) Robotic surgeon

Dr Sabary graduated from Baghdad University and completed his internship in Baghdad. He then began working in General Medicine and Emergency in Australia before commencing a senior residency post in Obstetrics and Gynaecology at Ballarat Hospital.Dr Sabary commenced his formal training in Obstetrics and Gynaecology in Queensland and gained clinical and theoretical experience in the field while based at Logan Hospital, Mater Hospital for Women and Rockhampton Hospital.

Dr Sabary returned to Victoria to complete his final two years of training at Sandringham Hospital in Melbourne under the guidance of Associate Professor Peter Lutjen who introduced him to IVF. Dr Sabary underwent intensive training in IVF with Professor Gab Kovacs and is quite passionate about IVF and the desire to assist couples experiencing infertility.In addition to infertility care, Dr Sabary is a highly experienced obstetrician, providing outstanding obstetric and gynaecological services to the greater Geelong community and surrounding areas.

Dr Moses Abe Qualifications: MBBS FRANZCOG MRCPI FRCOG

Dr Abe is a fully registered medical practitioner, completing formal specialist training in Obstetrics and Gynaecology and Reproductive Medicine in the United Kingdom and Ireland.He worked at the UK’s largest independent provider of assisted reproductive treatment services prior to joining Monash IVF in 2011.

Dr Abe is unique as he provides comprehensive fertility service combined with an ovulation induction program.He is particularly skilled at the procedural aspects of IVF and advanced laparoscopic & hysteroscopic surgery.

In addition, Dr Abe holds a public appointment at The University Hospital Geelong and a senior academic appointment at Deakin University with significant involvement in clinical research.In his busy practice, He prioritises Fertility and Gynaecology thus offering a relatively short waiting period.Dr Abe’s approach is holistic. He clearly presents treatment options, and strives to individualise management plans using best available evidence & state of the art technology. His patients enjoy continued support irrespective of treatment outcome.

Dr Edward Nguyen

Edward Nguyen is a registered specialist Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon from Melbourne, holding both dental and medical degrees with honours.

He provides the full range of surgical services including removal of teeth and wisdom teeth, dental implants, corrective jaw (orthognathic) surgery, head and neck pathology and facial trauma. He has a subspecialty interest in the management of oral and salivary gland pathology and has completed a head and neck fellowship in New Zealand.

He has public appointments at Austin and Western Hospitals where he is a member of the head and neck multidisciplinary teams, and is involved in the training of registrars.
